   "I was born March 22nd, 1956. The third of six children. I grew up in the small town of St. Rose in Laval, Quebec. We were, by no means rich but neither were we poor. My father Bob Garvin worked long and hard to keep food on the table and clothes on our back. My mother Rita Phelan worked equally long and hard to keep us in line and ensure our needs were attended to.

    I was educated in English at a Roman Catholic elementary school in St. Rose, Laval and at Laval Catholic High School in Chomedy, Laval. Religion has always been an integral part of my life. I attended church weekly with my mother and siblings, and my father would come on special occasions like Christmas and Easter. A few years after I left home, I learned that my father was Presbyterian, when all the while I thought he was Anglican. Not that it made any difference but I would have liked to know more about what he believed. I went through a time when religion played a small role in my life and I thank God for a very dear friend who brought me back to Christ. His name was Arthur Faucher, a Roman Catholic priest with a very different outlook on religion. Much like another friend, Rev. Ian Smith.

   In 1997, I took a course called Alpha at the home of a good friend, Louise Eberwein. Here I met Brendan Kelly who I began writing music with that same year. Alpha opened me up to new ideas about Christianity and I began reading about other Christians and found it very appealing to me. All my life, I had thought that Catholics were so different from Protestants and here I found I was wrong! Brendan and I formed a group of performers and began singing our music in church. It didn't take long before we were thinking about going outside our church with this gift! I simply picked up the phone and began calling churches offering our group on a Sunday morning. Things took off from there! {I still just pick up the phone!}

   Ęternal was born in early 1998 and I produced two CD's with Brendan Kelly. Brendan left the group in 2002. This is when Dieter Ferworn and I began writing together, we have produced our first CD "In Christian Unity" and we have vowed not to look back! Dieter, Mike Amelotte, Paul Despault and I have been together from the beginning.

   I have since grown and continue to grow in faith with the help and support of my loving wife Donna, and my beautiful children Jessica, and Veronica. I presently work for an Emergency Medical Service in Montreal as a paramedic and continue to write Christian music with my Brother-in-Christ, Dieter Ferworn".
